Anthony J. Tony Henson Obituary (1956 - 2018)

Anthony J. "Tony" Henson, 61, of Cornell, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 9:11 a.m. at his home. His service with full military honors will be held Monday, March 19, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Reverend Kenny Jones officiating. Inurnment will be at Cornell Cemetery in Cornell, IL at a later date. Visitation will be Monday, March 19, 2018 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Tony was born August 7, 1956 in Pontiac, IL to Delbert and Connie (King) Henson. He married Jewellene Fagan Turner August 28, 2011 in Mt. Vernon, IL. She survives in Cornell. He is also survived by his father, Delbert (Marianne) Henson of Mt. Vernon, IL; children, Christopher Henson of Rockford, IL and Caiti Henson (Nate Anderson) of Pontiac, IL; step-children, Nikki (Jason) Hughes of South Wilmington, IL, Valerie (Mike Moore) Kuhlmann of Streator, IL, and Megan Kuhlmann of Campus, IL; brothers, William "Billy" Rudolph, Jr. of Streator, IL and Todd (Tanya) Rudolph of DePue, IL; sisters, Crystal (Ron) Graves of Pontiac, IL, Tonia (Gary) Bailey Beggs of Momence, IL, Lani (Dan) Carlile of Pontiac, IL, Debbie (Jay) Simmons of Dix, IL, Sharon (Paul) Hayes of Springfield, IL, and Mary Jo (Roger) Sanders of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Natalie Taylor, Kynzie Anderson, Wyatt and Hayden Kuhlmann, and Zoey Moore; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joe Lewis, Brandy Keith, and Dave and Carol Zimmer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Rudolph; step-father, William Rudolph, Sr.; sister, Kara Dimming; and brother, Randy Henson. Tony was a graduate of Cornell High School, Class of 1974. He served in the United States Army from 1975 to 1979 with the rank of Corporal of the 4th Infantry Division. After leaving the Army, he worked for Dick Mays Excavation from 1979 to 1983, at Prestress Engineering Corporation from 1983 to 1998, and was a Correctional Officer for the Pontiac Correctional Center since 1998. Tony enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. He was an ASA Umpire for 17 years. He enjoyed dirt track racing, music, karaoke, fishing, and camping.
