Barry L. Masters Obituary (1947 - 2014)

Barry L. Masters, 66, of Odell, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at 9:56 p.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. His Service will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Odell. Pastor Tom Krieger and Pastor Pat McConnell will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Odell. Visitation will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home in Odell. Barry was born December 29, 1947 in Streator, IL, son of Thurman E. and AnnaMay M. (McConnell) Masters. He married Linda L. Derossett on May 16, 1970 in Odell. She survives in Odell. Also surviving are two sons, Daniel T. (Heather) Masters of Chatsworth, IL and Andrew D. (Lori Ziolkowski) Masters of Streator, IL; and one granddaughter, Morgan E. Masters. He was preceded in death by his parents. Barry was a graduate of Odell High School Class of 1966 and attended Joliet Junior College. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in Joliet, IL for 35 years until retiring in 2004. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Odell, and a previous member of the Odell Sportsman's Club, Spring Valley Walleye Club, and Livingston County Pheasants Forever. He was an avid outdoorsman. Memorials may be made to Odell EMS to help support future training and equipment.
