Beatrice A. Sauer Obituary (1937 - 2017)

Beatrice A. Sauer, 79, of Pontiac, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 7:19 p.m. at her home peacefully in her sleep. Her service will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac with Father David Sabel officiating. Cremation rites will follow. Burial will be at Southside Cemetery in Pontiac at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Beatrice was born September 14, 1937 in Chicago, IL to John F. and Lucille (Verschur) Morrisroe. She married Robert E. Sauer on February 7, 1959 in Chicago, IL. He passed away July 7, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Luanne (Richard) Alltop of Pontiac, IL; brother, Thomas (Margaret) Morrisroe of Park Ridge, IL; sister, Michelle (Edward) Cummings of Pontiac, IL; grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Carls of Chicago, IL and Melissa (Mike) Hindman of Shelbyville, KY; step-grandchildren, John (Amanda) Alltop of Normal, IL, Ashley (Aaron) Mingo of Sioux Center, IA, and Joshua Alltop of Bloomington, IL; great grandchildren, Sawyer Jake Hindman, Julian Alltop, and Gideon Mingo; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother, John Morrisroe, Jr.; and sister, Mary Lou Frano. Beatrice attended Help A Christian Grammar School in Chicago, IL and graduated in 1955 from Trinity High School in River Forest, IL. She was Head of Purchasing for Motorola in Schaumburg, IL for over 25 years before retiring to Pontiac in 1992 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed working at Tatum's Hair Salon and later at DeLong's Casual Dining. Beatrice was a very involved member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac and taught catechism for several years. She was also a member of the Women's Guild and the Altar and Rosary Society. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Pontiac Fire Department and Duffy's Ambulance Service.
