Bernice H. Norwid Obituary (1915 - 2013)

Bernice H. Norwid, 98, of Braceville, IL, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 9:48 a.m. at Good Samaritan Home in Pontiac. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Odell. Pastor Gretchen Stinebaugh will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Odell. Bernice was born on August 1, 1915 in Chicago, IL, daughter of August and Lena (Brueck) Steeve. She married Frank Norwid on June 28, 1941 in Chicago, IL. He passed away on November 7, 1969. She is survived by one son, Kenneth (Karen) Norwid of Odell, IL; five granddaughters, Cheryl (Mark) Hilleary, Pam (Randy) Pagel, Patty (Roy) Kline, Janet (Steve) Matern, and Kathy Heddins; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Harold Steeve; and one sister, Mildred Mitchka. Bernice attended Chicago schools and was a homemaker. She loved baking for her family. She will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made to the family.
