Cathy J. Holcomb-Rios Obituary (1955 - 2017)

Cathy J. Holcomb-Rios, 62 of Pontiac, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at 4:40 p.m. at Regency Care of Morris following a battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) brain cancer. Her service will be held Friday, October 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac. Reverend Dr. Roy Backus will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cathy was born September 25, 1955 in Joliet, IL to Delbert "Rocky" and Catherine "Katie" (Chaney) Holcomb. She is survived by her mother, Katie Holcomb of Marseilles, IL; son, Michael (Erica) Rios of Pontiac, IL; brothers, Kenny Holcomb of Pontiac, IL and Danny (Ashley) Holcomb of Woodlawn, TN; sisters, Connie (Ed) Koenig of Wilmington, IL and Christie (Steve) Russell of Marseilles, IL; six grandchildren, Alexandria Voorheis, Cierra Rios, Jaden Hershe, Michaela Harlan, Dallas Rios and Nola Rios; one great granddaughter Marlie; numerous nieces and nephews; her longtime love, Jeremy Missel of Odell, IL; and two dear friends, Lynette Rudolph of Graymont, IL and Karen Coyne of Pontiac, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert; daughter, Marci Ann Rios; and three brothers, Jimmy Holcomb, Steve Holcomb and Delbert Holcomb. Cathy was raised and educated in Wilmington, IL and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1973. Cathy worked as a correctional officer for the Department of Corrections at the Dwight Correctional Center. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing and reading.
