Chip Quentin Fitzsimmons Obituary (1968 - 2019)

Chip Quentin Fitzsimmons, 50, of Pontiac, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, at 1:25 a.m. in Pontiac. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Chip was born December 6, 1968, in Pontiac, IL to Kenneth R. and Janet (Turk) Fitzsimmons. Janet survives in Pontiac, IL. He is also survived by his brothers, Timothy (Linda) Fitzsimmons, John (Joan Deutschmann) Fitzsimmons, and James (Michelle) Fitzsimmons, all of Pontiac, IL; special aunt, Juleen (Steve) Young of Pontiac, IL; special uncle, Bill Fitzsimmons, of Pontiac, IL, who he spent many Sundays with in the garage playing cards and watching sports; and nieces and nephews, Kevin (Michelle) Fitzsimmons of Bloomington, IL, Ashley, Miranda, Jeffrey, Michael, and Kimberly Fitzsimmons, all of Pontiac, IL. Chip was blessed with a large family and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; brother, Jeff Fitzsimmons; and grandparents, Carl and Myrtel Fitzsimmons and Virgil and Florence Turk. Chip graduated in 1986 from Pontiac Township High School, where he enjoyed wrestling. He worked in construction as a laborer and carpenter. He was a 25-year member of Bricklayers L. U. #6 IL.
