Christoffel J. Botha Obituary (1989 - 2020)

Christoffel "Stoffies" J. Botha, 31, of Emington, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 12:34 p.m. in rural Emington, IL. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Emington Congregational Church in Emington with Pastor Grant Speece officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be Saturday, August 1, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the church. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Chris was born June 22, 1989, in Vereeninig, South Africa to Christoffel and Emsie (Grobler) Botha. He married Melinda Crouch on November 13, 2015, in Pontiac. She survives in Emington. Also surviving are his son, Zane Botha of Emington, IL; step-children, Avery Crouch, Preston DeBates, and Aubrey Christiansen; brothers, Manie (Chene) Botha and Alwyn Botha, both of South Africa; and sisters, Santie (Trevor) Smit and Sonja Botha, both of South Africa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Chris had worked for Spence Farms in Fairbury, IL and most recently Zutat Feed Solutions in Roberts, IL. He very much enjoyed his job growing mushrooms.
