Clifford J. Schaefer Obituary (1921 - 2016)

Clifford J. Schaefer, 95, of Odell, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at 3:45 p.m. at Evenglow Health Center in Pontiac. Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date with inurnment at Odell Union Cemetery in Odell, IL. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Cliff was born April 12, 1921 in Flanagan, IL to John and Mabel (Simpson) Schaefer. He married Marjorie Frobish, who passed away on January 6, 1999. He is survived by his children, Stephen (Linda) Schaefer of Evergreen Park, IL, Susan Schaefer of Tinley Park, IL and Edward (Joanna) Schaefer of Odell, IL; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; two brothers, Leroy Schaefer and Ernest Schaefer; two sisters, Mary Boyd and Lenore Price; and one daughter, Kathleen Schaefer. Cliff worked as a Welder/Mechanic for over 45 years with Midwest Operating Engineers Local #150. He served in the U. S. Army in Japan post-WWII. He was a past member of the United Church of Odell and a member of the Odell American Legion. Cliff was a very hard working person. Later in life he enjoyed bowling, fishing, and hunting.
