E. Christine Summers Roe Obituary (1925 - 2011)

E. Christine Summers Roe, 85, of Pontiac died at 1:30 p.m. Friday (July 1, 2011) at Good Samaritan Home, Pontiac. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the Rev. Brian Bill officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Pontiac Bible Church or Good Samaritan Home, Pontiac. She was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Spruce Pine, Ala., a daughter of Clarence Andrew and Maggie Lee (Moreland) Gist. She married Truman C. Roe on Dec. 12, 1967, in Pontiac. He died May 10, 2010. She is survived by three sons, Frank (Connie) Summers, Chenoa; Danny (Kim) Summers, San Diego, Calif.; and Randy Summers, Pontiac; two stepsons, Robert L. Roe and Thomas (Linda) Roe, both of Pontiac; three daughters, Judy (John) Worth, Lincoln; Charlotte Drent, Pontiac; and Jeanette (Rob) Pflager, Bella Vista, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Trudy Ann (David) Wolf, Pontiac; a brother, Robert (Pat) Gist, South Haven, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Truman; one daughter, Shelia Blankenbecler; four brothers, Carl, Michael, Ruble and James; three sisters, Audrey Camp, Louise French and Mae Jean Whitstain. She was of the Christian faith. Christine had been employed by Fashionbilt Shoe, Pontiac Chair Factory and Nationwide Glove Co. She enjoyed quilting, dominoes and playing cards.
