Edward C. Trainor Obituary (1936 - 2018)

Edward C. Trainor, 82, of Pontiac, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 6:00 a.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. A Mass will be held Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Pontiac with Father Adam Cesarek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Pontiac, IL with full military honors. Visitation will be Monday, September 24, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Edward was born February 14, 1936 in Streator, IL to Marion and Vida (Johnson) Trainor. He married Carol Ann Cali on May 27, 1961. She survives in Pontiac. Also surviving are his children, John E. (Laura) Trainor of Cornell, IL, Mark M. (Kelli) Trainor of Pontiac, IL, Joseph A. Trainor of Pontiac, IL, Edward B. Trainor of Pontiac, IL, and James P. Trainor of Pontiac, IL; sister-in-law, Nancy Trainor of Florida; and grandchildren, Jordann Trainor, James Trainor, John Trainor, Patrick Miller, Sam Trainor, Tyler Trainor, Alli Trainor, Hunter Trainor, and Andrew Trainor. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Leo Trainor, Bernard Trainor, Jerome Trainor, and Donny Trainor. Edward was a graduate of Streator High School, Class of 1954 and attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport, IA for two years. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. He managed grain elevators and was the owner/operator of Towanda Barnes Elevator until his retirement in 1998. Edward was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Pontiac, IL, Knights of Columbus, and Pontiac Elks Lodge. Memorials may be made to St. Marys Catholic School, 414 N.
