Elsie M. Johnson Obituary (1914 - 2007)

Elsie M. Johnson, 92, of Pontiac, died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at ASTA Care Center of Pontiac. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac, the Rev. Dieter Punt of the First Lutheran Church of Pontiac officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Chicago. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 25, 1914, at Stockholm, S.D., the daughter of Martin and Anna (Johnson) Johnson. She married John E. Carlson Dec. 23, 1936, at Chicago. He died in 1964. She later married Martin Johnson in 1968 at Chicago. He died in 1990. Surviving are one son, Les (Jane) Carlson, Pontiac; one daughter, Carol (Robert) Shaffer, Winfield; one brother, Arnold (Betty) Peterson, Longmont, Colo.; one sister, Elin Rislov, Sioux Falls, S.D.; three grandchildren, Eric (Kristina) Carlson, Eric (Stephanie) Shaffer and Jennifer (Jeff) Bushur; and six great-grandchildren, David, Benjamin and Anna Carlson, Alex Shaffer and Justine and Jeneva Bushur.
