Eric Moritz Obituary (1968 - 2023)

Eric Moritz, 54, of Countryside, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 26, 2023, in La Grange, IL. His services will be Friday, March 31, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cullom. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Cullom. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cullom. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Eric was born July 18, 1968, in Fairbury, IL to Walter and Bernice (Donley) Moritz. Bernice survives in Cullom. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1990 from Illinois State University and married Melissa Jury on May 26 of the same year. She survives in Countryside, IL. Surviving are his children, Sarah Moritz (Joshua) and Cole (Esther) Moritz; brothers, Phillip (Kristi) Moritz and Anthony (Jodi) Moritz; grandchildren, Jackson Holsinger and Sapphira Moritz; and many nieces and nephews. Eric was preceded in death by his father, Walter. He was a man of many talents and had been employed by Edlong Corporation in Elk Grove Village, IL. He loved the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, adored his two dogs, Soldier and Wrigley, and was a proud father and papa. He loved to attend his children's sports events and was their number one fan.
