Esta Bennett Obituary (1920 - 2013)

Esta Bennett, 92, of Pontiac passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:25 p.m. at ASTA Care Center in Pontiac, IL. A private family service will be held at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac, IL with Pastor Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac, IL. Esta was born on June 30, 1920 in Rook's Creek, IL, daughter of Oral and Bessie (Dalton) Larkin. She married Paul C. Bennett. He passed away on October 12, 1979. Esta is survived by one son, Cleo (Linda) Burke of Champaign, IL; one step-daughter, Marilyn (Bill) Baker of Saunemin, IL; three grandchildren, Chad (Niki) Burke, Tammy Burke and Tracy Burke; two step-grandchildren, Martha (Butch) Becker and Mark Baker and several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Pauline Patterson; one son, David Burke; one step-daughter, Norma Hitchens and one step-grandchild, Paula Pryor. Esta was a graduate of Pontiac Township High School. She worked as a Receptionist/Mail Clerk for 10 years at Pontiac Correctional Center, a waitress at the Old Log Cabin and also provided private home care. Esta greatly enjoyed playing cards. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
