Gordon W. Frobish Obituary (1924 - 2017)

Gordon W. Frobish, 93, of Graymont, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 6:20 a.m. at Meadows Retirement Community Center in Chenoa. His service will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Pontiac with Reverend James O. Wolfe III officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Gordon was born August 5, 1924 in Graymont, IL to Lester and Mabel (Tuttle) Frobish. He married Betty L. Campbell on February 21, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA. She passed away on January 3, 2007. He is survived by his son, Gordon (Mary) Frobish of Fairbury, IL; grandchildren, Steven (Jennifer) Frobish and Kristin (Niall) Quinn, all of Ballwin, MO; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gale Frobish and Eldon Frobish; three sisters, Lavora Pate, Velma Wasilewski, and Frances Grote; and one son, Scott Frobish. Gordon was a graduate of Pontiac Township High School, Class of 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He was a farmer in the Graymont area. Gordon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pontiac. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, growing a garden, and golfing. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Pontiac or Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community in Chenoa.
