Harvey "Shorty" Lyons Obituary (1964 - 2022)

Harvey "Shorty" Lewis Lyons, age 57, of Pontiac, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 15, 2022. Shorty was born on July 23, 1964 in Coudersport, PA to Nancy and Harvey Lyons. He wed Patricia Woods on October 28, 1983. He became a lifelong correctional officer and worked for prisons in Texas and Pennsylvania, before settling in at Pontiac Correctional Center where he served for nearly 28 years until his retirement. He loved sport shooting, hunting, and could talk your ear off about any and all firearms. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Lyons, and children; Chantel (Korey Williams) Woods (WI), Tabitha (Colton) Brownell, Marshal (Mayla) Lyons, and Justin (Heather Rayburn) Lyons, all of Pontiac. He is also survived by four sisters; Penny Myers, NC; Vicky Lyons, PA; Kandy (Tom) VanSkiver, NY; and Renee Lyons, PA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; Trevor, Orion, Dante, Keirianna, Isabelle, Hunter, Trevin, September, Karinda, and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of his life will follow at a later date.
