Henrietta Grinderslev Obituary (1928 - 2013)

Henrietta Grinderslev, 84, of Odell, died at 11:02 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her residence in Odell. Her funeral will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Odell, with Pastor Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Grinderslev was born July 25, 1928, in Chicago, the daughter of Walter and Henrietta (Hansen) Christensen. She married Harry V. Grinderslev Sept. 6, 1952, in Chicago. He preceded her in death. She is survived by four sons, Steve (Stephanie) Grinderslev, Nashville, Tenn., Dan (Teri) Grinderslev, Port Aransas, Texas, Ed Grinderslev, Blue, Texas, and Duane Grinderslev of Odell; two daughters, Linda (Tom) Finger, Round Rock, Texas, and Judy (Randy Olson) Grinderslev, Odell; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Harry, and seven siblings. Mrs. Grinderslev attended schools in Chicago and was a homemaker. Henrietta was a very devoted mother. She loved her animals, enjoyed sewing and walking with her friends in Odell. As a young woman, she traveled with a dance troop performing all across the country.
