Howard L. Sancken Obituary (1933 - 2018)

Howard L. Sancken, 85, of Pontiac, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 4:20 a.m. at Good Samaritan Home in Pontiac. His service will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Pontiac with Father David Sabel officiating. Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with a rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. Howard was born March 21, 1933 in Saunemin, IL to Louis and Lorene (DeBoer) Sancken. He married Barbara Fultz on January 26, 1952 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Pontiac. She passed away April 14, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, John Sancken and Thomas Sancken; two daughters, Carol Duffy and Peggy Ann Sancken-Froehlich; one sister, Anna Mae Popp; three sons-in-law, David "Ike" Duffy, Bob Smith and Kurt Froehlich; and three great grandchildren. Howard was a 1950 graduate of Saunemin High School. He worked for Wilken Seed for over 35 years and farmed his entire life in the Owego Township area. Howard was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Pontiac and volunteered with rural Pontiac Fire Department for many years.
