June C. Follmer Obituary (1927 - 2014)

June C. Follmer, 87, of Graymont, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 1:45 p.m. at Good Samaritan Home in Flanagan. Her service will be Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Graymont. Pastor Patrick Embley will officiate. Burial will follow at Rooks Creek Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be Friday, September 19, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac. June was born May 28, 1927 in Graymont, daughter of Lester and Mae (Frobish) Zehr. She married Charles Eugene Follmer on March 3, 1946. He passed away May 9, 1985. Surviving are her sons, Richard L. (Billie Jean) Follmer of Hudson, IL, Dave A. (Suzy) Follmer of Pontiac, IL, and Michael J. (Mary) Follmer of Graymont, IL; brothers, Donald L. (Shirley) Zehr of Pontiac, IL and Merle B. Zehr of Pontiac, IL; grandchildren, Theresa (John) Stewart of Bloomington, IL, Timothy (Sarah) Follmer of Goodfield, IL, Lyle P. (Shannon) Follmer of Streator, IL, Loren M. (Amy) Follmer of Galesburg, IL, David A. (Julie) Bevers of Sacramento, CA, Kari L. (Adan) Garcia of Tucson, AZ, Bradley Charles (Ashley) Follmer of Pontiac, IL, Amy M. (Travis Wyant) Follmer of Graymont, IL, Abby A. Follmer of Graymont, IL; and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; one grandson, Brian L. Follmer; and one sister-in-law, Mary Zehr. June attended Flanagan Grade School and was a graduate of Flanagan High School, Class of 1945. She worked at Sears in Pontiac, Graymont Co-Op, Rooks Creek Elevator, and State Bank of Graymont. She attended Graymont First Baptist Church and was a member of Graymont Neighborhood Club and American Baptist Women's Ministry in Graymont. Memorials may be made to Graymont First Baptist Church.
