Keith D. Jones Obituary (1939 - 2023)

Keith D. Jones, 84, of Pontiac, formerly of Saunemin, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Pontiac with Father Adam Cesarek officiating. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be Monday, March 20, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac. Duffy Baier Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Keith was born January 30, 1939, in Rantoul, IL to Darrell and Irene (Davis) Jones. He married E. Colleen Hanlon on February 12, 1966, in Loretto, IL. She preceded him in death on March 12, 2007. He is survived by his son, Steven A. (Tammy) Jones of Petal, MS; two daughters, Jill E. (Tim) Riggs of Fairbury, IL and Amy R. Jones of Pontiac, IL; eight grandchildren, Tory, Tyler, Erin, Calvin, Tristan, Ireland, Brooklynne, and Ashlee; one great grandchild; sister, Sandra Koerner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Colleen; one daughter, Gina Jones; and several siblings. Keith was a graduate of Pontiac Township High School. He served two years in the United States Army. He worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation out of Forrest. Keith was a member of the Saunemin American Legion. He loved his family and friends very much and was a big socializer with a great sense of humor. He was an avid sports fan and attended the Holiday Tournament every year to support the Pontiac Indians. He will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made to the Pontiac Sports Boosters.
