Kenneth A. Carstens Obituary (1942 - 2021)

Kenneth A. Carstens, 79, of Flanagan, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 5:19 p.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. His service will be held Monday, December 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Flanagan, IL with Pastor Amy Berger officiating. Burial will follow at St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery in rural Flanagan, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Kenneth was born February 9, 1942, in Streator, IL to Ralph and Florence (Jenkins) Carstens. He married Phyllis A. Park on April 8, 1962, at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Flanagan, IL. She passed away December 1, 2021. He is survived by his son, Rodney K. (Brenda) Carstens of Flanagan, IL; grandchildren, Jonathan K. (Lindsay) Carstens of Flanagan, IL and Alan M. (Ashlee) Carstens of Long Point, IL; step-grandchildren, Joe Ledford of Pontiac, IL and Samantha Ledford of Flanagan, IL; great grandchildren, Alivia Waschle and Owen Carstens; and sister, Beverly Carstens of Flanagan, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; one son, Kevin Carstens; and brother, Wayne Carstens. Kenneth attended Woodland schools and worked the home farm with his wife, Phyllis.
