LaVerne A. Guth Obituary (1935 - 2016)

LaVerne A. Guth, 81, of Flanagan, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at 12:18 a.m. at OSF St. Joseph's Medical Center in Bloomington. Services will be held Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Pastor David Craig and Pastor Collin Seitz officiating. Burial will be at Waldo Cemetery in rural Gridley. Visitation will be Monday, November 21, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. LaVerne was born 8, 1935 in Flanagan, IL to John M. and Margaretha A. (Schlueter) Wiechman. She married Robert L. Guth on October 26, 1958 at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan. He passed away on June 6, 2015. She is survived by her daughters, Alice (David) Craig of Tremont, IL, Sandra (Michael) Atkinson of Flanagan, IL and Carol (Randall) Schwartz of Kissimmee, FL; brother, Wayne H. (Sharon) Wiechman of Minonk, IL; grandchildren, Andrew (Rebecca) Craig, Benjamin (Shifally Rattan) Craig, Zach Craig, Micah Craig, Makennah (Jeremy Greening) Craig, Sarah Craig, Marshall, Muriel, and Samuel Schwartz; and great-grandchildren, Mason and Wyatt and 2 more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and one granddaughter, Grace Craig. LaVerne was a graduate of Flanagan High School and attended 2 years of college to become a Registered Beauty Culturist. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and for many years she was a 4H Leader. She was a member of Pontiac Bible Church in Pontiac and active at St. Petri Church in rural Flanagan.
