Marshall Thompson Obituary (1953 - 2007)

PONTIAC - Marshall "Gene" Thompson, 53, Pontiac, died at 10:16 a.m. Wednesday (May 9, 2007) at his residence. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Duffy Funeral Home in Pontiac, with the Rev. Brian Bill officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, and for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pontiac. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. He was born July 9, 1953, in Pontiac, a son of Roy E. and Susan M. Shank Thompson. Surviving are one son, Christopher N. Thompson, Pontiac; two daughters, Megan E. (Aaron) Peck, Savannah, Ga., Kelly M. Thompson, Pontiac; two brothers, Michael (Margaret) Thompson, Normal, and Jack E. Thompson, Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, George Anna (James) Badgley, Peoria, and Melody D. (Dennis) Rexroad, Streator; and three grandchildren, Ian Micah Thompson, Chloe Jasmine Thompson and Aidan Michael Peck. He was preceded in death by his parents. Gene was a shift facility manager for Vonachen Services at the Pontiac Caterpillar plant. He was a graduate of Pontiac High School. Gene was an avid Chicago White Sox fan who loved riding his Honda and his 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger.
