Peggy Ann Sancken-Froehlich Obituary (1952 - 2017)

Peggy Ann Sancken-Froehlich, 64, of Champaign, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 12:23 p.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Her service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac with Father David Sabel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pontiac. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Peggy was born December 17, 1952 in Pontiac, IL to Howard and Barbara (Fultz) Sancken. Howard survives in Pontiac. Peggy married Bob Smith in 1976. He passed away in 2005. She married Kurt Froehlich on July 31, 2010. He passed away August 22, 2014. Also surviving is her step-son, Kevin P. (Lisa) Froehlich of Phoenix, AZ; sisters-in-law, Terri Sancken of Marseilles, IL, Joanne Sancken of Pontiac, IL, and Paula Bennett of California; brother-in-law, Jeff Froehlich of Michigan; and many nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara; both husbands, Bob Smith and Kurt Froehlich; two brothers, John Sancken and Thomas Sancken; and one sister, Carol Duffy. Peggy was a graduate of Pontiac Township High School, Class of 1970. She attended University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She retired as a legal secretary from the law firm of Evans, Froehlich, Beth & Chamley and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Champaign.
