Phyllis A. Carstens Obituary (1942 - 2021)

Phyllis A. Carstens, 78 of Flanagan passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at OSF St. James Hospital in Pontiac. Her service will be on Monday December 6, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Flanagan with Pastor Amy Berger. Burial will be in St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery in Flanagan. Visitation will be held on Sunday December 5, 2021, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Phyllis was born on December 8, 1942, in Nebraska Township, Flanagan, to Henry and Luella (Aden) Park. She married Kenneth Carstens April 8, 1962, in St. Petri Lutheran Church, He survives Flanagan, IL Also surviving is her son Rodney K. (Brenda) Carstens of Flanagan; grandchildren, Jonathan K. (Lindsay) Carstens of Flanagan, Alan M. (Ashlee) Carstens of Long Point; step-grandchildren, Joe Ledford of Pontiac, Samantha Ledford of Flanagan; great grandchildren, Alivia Waschle, Owen Carstens. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Kevin Carstens, one sister Jean Greening. Phyllis graduated from Flanagan High School Class of 1961. She had worked with her husband on the home farm her entire life in Flanagan. She was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church where she was very active and very strong in her Faith.
