Robert E. Vance, Sr. Obituary (1924 - 2018)

Robert E. Vance, Sr., 94, of Pontiac, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at 9:35 a.m. at his home. A private family service will be held at a later date. Reverend Tom Goodell will officiate with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Robert was born July 15, 1924 in Fairbury, IL to Ray E. and Grace L. (Barnes) Vance. He married Sharon K. Olsen on May 5, 1972. She survives in Pontiac. Also surviving are his children, Diane (Dewayne) Ahrends of Graymont, IL, Debbie Vance of Colorado, Robert E. Vance, Jr. of Pontiac, IL, and Brandi R. Vance of Pontiac, IL; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis Vance, and one sister, Thelma Kaisner. Robert was a graduate of Fairbury High School. He was the Owner/Operator of Shell Gas Station in Pontiac and then did the commercial delivery for Auto Zone for over 20 years. Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pontiac, the Lyons Club, and Masonic Lodge in Pontiac.
