Ruth C. Rinn Obituary (1924 - 2016)

Ruth C. Rinn, 93, of Odell, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 3:05 a.m. at Evenglow Health Care Center in Pontiac, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Church in Odell with Father Adam Cesarek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Odell. Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with a Rosary to be recited at 3:30 p.m. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Ruth was born April 3, 1923 in Odell, IL to Earl and Catherine (Roob) Kelso. She married Edward Rinn on March 17, 1942 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Odell. He passed away on January 6, 2002. She is survived by her children, Linda (Richard) Verdun of Odell, IL, Carole (Charles) Frazier of Plainfield, IL, Barbara (Michael) Fogarty of Odell, IL, James (Colette) Rinn of Western Springs, IL, and Kathleen (Michael) McCoy of Pontiac, IL; brothers, Joseph (Verna) Kelso of Odell, IL and Patrick (Garnet) Kelso of Odell, IL; grandchildren, Dana (Ange) Frazier, Brad (Jennifer) Frazier, Kris Krominga, Rick Verdun, Brian (Becky) Fogarty, Kevin (Heidi) Fogarty, Ryan (Tessa) McCoy, and Megan (Jim DeGrado) McCoy; and great-grandchildren, Nolan and Cale Fogarty, Ben and Max Fogarty, Alaina and Elizabeth Frazier, Luke, Kyle and Jake Frazier, and Baby McCoy due in October. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; sisters, Regina Phillips and Joan Ayers; granddaughters, Mary Beth and Margret Ann Verdun; and grandson, Tim Krominga. Ruth was a graduate from Odell High School and attended what is now known as Illinois State University where she received her teaching certificate. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Odell, the Catholic Daughters and the Pontiac Elks Lodge. Ruth especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family. She was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and this is the year! Her family would like to thank the Evenglow Family for their loving care and support.
