Thomas E. Land, Jr. Obituary (1947 - 2012)

PONTIAC -- Thomas E. Land Jr., 65, Pontiac, died at 9:50 a.m. Friday (Dec. 7, 2012) at Good Samaritan Home in Flanagan. His service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac, with the Rev. Matthew Routien officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice. He was born July 14, 1947, in LeRoy, son of Thomas E. and Lucille Robertson Land. He married Nancy J. Chamberlain on Dec. 30, 1987, in Pontiac. She passed away in January 2007. He is survived by his son, Lloyd Barker, Antioch, Tenn.; stepson, Tony Echevarrice, Chenoa; loving girlfriend, Lillie Rexroad, Pontiac; brothers, Robert (Linda) Manning, Hanover, Ind.; William Land, Centralia; and John (Shirley) Land, Lafayette, Ind.; and sisters, Opal Karleskint, Bloomington; Etta "Margie" Chapman Lake, St. Louis, Mo.; LaVerne Williams, Bloomington; and Lucy (Roger) Young, Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy Land; two sisters, Elsie Hoover and Janet White; and one brother, James Manning. He was Baptist by faith. He was self-employed in Pontiac as the owner-operator of Mr. Fix It. He attended Scottsburg, Ind., grade school and high school and also attended McCaf University.
