Timothy J. Grant Obituary (1951 - 2014)

Timothy J. Grant, 63, of Cornell, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 9:15 p.m. at Flanagan Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Flanagan, IL. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pontiac. A "Celebration of Life" will follow Mass at Kelly's Tap in Cornell, IL. Father David Sabel will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Friends may call Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pontiac. Timothy was born on January 19, 1951 in Berwyn, IL, son of Maurice and Annette (Corbett) Grant. Surviving is one daughter, Ashley J. Grant of Wenona, IL; one brother, Edward W. Grant of Cornell, IL; one sister, Lucy A. Durdan of Grand Ridge, IL; one grandson, Karsyn J. Hendershott; six nieces and nephews; and seven great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Luellen E. (Somers) Grant. Timothy graduated from Illinois State University in 1973. He was a Corrections Counselor at Pontiac and Dwight prisons, Co-Owner of Pub I in Bloomington IL, Co-Owner of Maury's Tap in Cornell, and Owner of Grants Tap in Pontiac.
