Vera Ruth Schott Wilson Obituary (1920 - 2011)

Vera Ruth Schott Wilson, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, KY. Mrs. Wilson was born in Pontiac, IL on September 25, 1920, the daughter of the late Howard and Mable Branz Schott. She had been a lifelong homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Wilson; son, Raymond D. Wilson; grandson, John Steven Wilson; sons-in-law, John Clayton Golden, Raymond Eugene Platts, Jr; brothers, Lloyd, Roy, Ivan, Donald, Gail and Wayne Schott; and a sister, Shirley Schott. Survivors include her children, Ruth Platts of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, Ken (Kathy) Wilson, Plainfield, IL; Betty Golden of Pineville, KY; John (Sharon) Wilson of Topeka KS; Barbara (James) Golden of Pineville, KY. Brothers: Ellis, David and Frank Schott. Sisters: Mary Mason and Doris McDowell. Mrs. Wilson is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews and a large number of friends who considered Mrs. Wilson to be their "Grandma". Services will be at 10 AM Saturday, August 13 at the Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with the Rev. Todd Golden presiding. Burial will be in the Camp-Esmen Cemetery in Odell, IL. Visitation is Wednesday, August 10 from 6-8PM at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, KY. The family will also receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday, August 12, at the Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac, IL.
