Yuvonne Marie Grigsby Obituary (1943 - 2021)

Yuvonne Marie (Lee) Grigsby, 77, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Pontiac IL, passed away at the Hospice of the Valley - Ryan House and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Her services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Pastor Brandon Lyons of Cornell Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow the service at Round Grove Cemetery in Campus, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Yuvonne was born in Long Point Township on August 22, 1943 to the parents of Robert and Ethel (Marshall) Lee. She married John Grigsby on November 26, 1962. They were married for 31 years. John went to be with the Lord on August 6, 1993. Yuvonne is survived by her children Terri Grigsby of Phoenix, AZ, Valerie (Dale) Jones of Pontiac, IL, and David (Julia) Grigsby of Beavercreek, OH, stepchildren, Martina Grigsby of Pueblo, CO, and John Grigsby of Rockford, IL. She loved spending time with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Ruth Ann (Neil Pritchard) Slivka of New Hartford, NY, Joyce Elaine Lee of Bloomington, IL, and Robert (Natalie) Lee, Jr. of Virginia, IL, and sister-in-law, Betty Lee of Aurora, IL. She graduated from Kankakee Community College in 1992. She spent her life serving others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for Rockford Memorial Hospital, Riverside Hospital, Shapiro Developmental Center and Fox Developmental Center. Yuvonne was a devoted Godly woman. Her faith, and serving our Lord as a disciple, was a very important part of her life. She loved the Lord our God with all her heart, with all her soul, and with all her mind. She was baptized in the Kankakee River in June of 1976. She was a member of and greatly involved with Cornell Baptist Church. She loved (and was loved by) her church family and friends beyond words. She was a member and volunteer of community organizations AMVETS and the VFW. Her greatest gift was listening and being a supportive mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, and a great friend. Yuvonne was greeted in heaven by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Melinda Logan; grandson, Donnie Logan; brothers, Richard Lee and Clarence Lee; son-in-law, Donald Logan; and sister-in-law, Susie Lee. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Make a Wish Foundation.
